Paprika or bell peppers are grown in modern, automated facilities on the fertile Yedang Plains exposed to sufficient sunshine. Being high in quality and highly marketable, their export to Japan began in 1999. As of 2005, the amount of paprika exported overseas is valued at 580 million KRW, which shows their immense global popularity.
